Q1) When and how did you first find Joy Electric?
I first heard about Joy E in a 5 song BEC compilation, with the song monosynth, actually my dad liked it a lot so he played it often, really loud, and I loved it from the start, it made me wanna dance :)
Of course the song intrigued me to know what a "monosynth" was, and since I was living in Chile back then, I couldn't just go to the store to buy a Joy E cd, so I went to the kingdom of free samples: the Internet. So yeah then I heard a bunch of samples and loved Joy E
Q2) Previous to JoyE, what did you listen to?
Well mostly christian alternative music, a lot of the 80's too
Q3) How has JoyE influenced your musical tastes?
I am much more into electronic music since I started listenin to joy E. Now I listen to many synthpop bands
Q4) How has JoyE influenced your life?
A lot actually, well music in general does. It has helped me when I'm feeling down,
Q5) Which JoyE albums do you own?
Melody, Five Stars for Failure, We Are the Music Makers, Old Wives Tales, Robot Rock, Children of the Lord, Christiansongs, Unelectric, The White Songbook, Starcadia, The Art and Craft of Popular Music
Q6) In your opinion, what is the best JoyE album, and why?
Well I think Robot Rock, just because it personally mean a lot to me, and the songs are short sweet and simple, which I enjoy very much specially sugar rush
Q7) In your opinion, what is the best JoyE song, and why?
I really don't think I can give just one, but I'd say monosynth or sugar rush
Q8) Have you seen Ronnie perform live? What did you think of the show?
YES!!! Well I had the chance to see them perform 2 times April 2002, both shows were great. It had lots of energy and of course it made me dance, hehe.
Q9) Have you ever talked to Ronnie before? What did you think of him?
Yeah, well he doesn't say too much, He is a pretty humble guy, he was there selling his own merchandise, and talkin to the fans, he was never like hiding from the public. He has a strong character, and I think that's how he has survived for so long.
Q10) Tell me your favorite Ronnie anecdote
Well it's not like an anecdote, but, both times I saw him play he did yell @the sound dude, it was pretty funny, 'cause it seemed he never really likes what it sounds like. Oh and of course he doesn't like it when people call his music techno, which I think is pretty amusing
Q11) What makes JoyE such a great band, to you?
Well first of all the music, and I really enjoy Ronnie's voice. Also because ROnnie is a people person, he is humble, and he replies all the emails his fans send him, even with the most silly questions :)
Q12) What kind of music do you listen to, besides JoyE?
Well mostly electronic music, but also some indie/brit rock , and some girl fronted rock bands, also some 80's bands. I usually like bands for their vocals. Like Aaron Sprinkle is accustic, but his voice is great, and excelent songwritting. Also Color Theory is more like piano-pop, and his voice is really good too.
